Temporary Injuries and Illnesses
The Student Access Center only provides accommodations to students with a documented disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Temporary illnesses or injuries are not disabilities as defined by the ADA.
In particular, the Student Access Center’s Testing Center does not provide testing accommodations for these kinds of illnesses or injuries. This includes testing accommodations for make-up exams or scribes for broken hands or other injuries creating a barrier to writing or typing. Students and instructors will need to create a plan to work through temporary illness or injury including completing exams.
