Temporary Injuries and Illnesses

The Student Access Center only provides accommodations to students with a documented disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Temporary illnesses or injuries are not disabilities as defined by the ADA.  

• In particular, the Student Access Center’s Testing Center does not provide testing accommodations for these kinds of illnesses or injuries. This includes testing accommodations for make-up exams or scribes for broken hands or other injuries creating a barrier to writing or typing. Students and instructors will need to create a plan to work through temporary illness or injury including completing exams.
